Go Sisters Orientation
A
t the heart of Go Sisters is girls’ empowerment and girls taking up leadership roles in their communities and this is what makes internship an important activity under the go sisters programme as it gives an opportunity for a peer leader to show evidence of leadership and organising skills in a new environment for four (4) months supplementary to the provincial coordinators (carol Shikombelo in southern province, Akabana Lutungu in western province, Dinah Mattakah in Copperbelt province and Nyachilongu Muzeya in Lusaka province).
This truly proves evidence that female leaders are being developed and mentored in communities.
It is for this reason that the Go Sisters national coordinator (Sharon Museke) is in high spirits to conduct the orientation of the 2012-13 interns (Mutinta Kanene from southern going to western, Angela Muyang’ani from western going to Copperbelt, Mary Zulu from Lusaka going to southern province) today 22nd October, 2012, at the EduSport office, with the assistance of Linda Shaciinda and Godfridah Kasangula (2011-12 interns) and Nyachilongu Muzeya. The new interns will travel to their placements on 23rd October, 2012, where they will be expected to assist the Go Sisters provincial coordinators to plan, implement and evaluate Go Sisters activities akin to parents’ forums, stakeholders and partners meeting, workshops, tournaments, e.t.c for the next four months.
As EduSport foundation, we believe such an opportunity will build the interns up and improve their efficiency, hence opening up more privileges in future for them.
